Getting through a rough life event
Life is full of surprises, we all know that. One moment you can be walking along the street feeling positive and happy – like nothing can ever go wrong – and the next you’re holed-up in some dark corridor of the local hospital, awaiting X-Rays on your poor swollen knee.
The point is that that is life, of course, and there is little we can do to avoid such trauma, bar trust in our instincts and natural intuition.
Something like a Cancer Mis Diagnosis claim , however, can really put things into perspective. A sudden reminder of how vulnerable we all are to illness and troubling life events, this kind of claim is made even worse after having to go through the hell of living – and hopefully recovering from – the dreaded big C.

The sad truth of it is that much of the sadness and worry prevails, even when the odds seem nothing less than stacked in your favour.
CBT – or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – is designed to tackle the kind of debilitating persistent thoughts which won’t leave the person alone and doggedly insist on being present at all times. Now considered probably the number 1 therapy in the battle against depression, anxiety and many obsessive disorders, it is a therapy which has grown from a small belief into a widely reputed method of treatment.
Not sure where to get help? Anyone who is concerned and would like to talk through the idea of counselling with someone is advised to contact their GP. Although by their very nature a doctor of General things, you’ll likely be pleasantly surprised with how much they know and what they recommend. The issue with the NHS is time, of course. That means a wait for many people. But if you would rather not wait and can afford to do so, you should feel free to do this privately. After all, this is your mental health we’re talking about here. It really is no laughing matter.
