Are you addicted?

When it comes to addictions, one of the most common has to be Internet addiction. Is that any surprise to you? It shouldn’t be…most of us have our email accounts open on our computers while we’re at work, and after work we’re all connecting with each other via Facebook.

So in many ways, you could say that it’s impossible not to be involved in this somehow. After all, even if you weren’t involved in it, chances are that you’d struggle: how else would you communicate with people? (And please, no ridiculous answers like “using SMS” or “I’d call them on the phone”. What year are you living in, exactly?)

Here, then, are a few ways to get out of this rather deep hole – if you wish to.

1) Avoid staying on FB ten hours a day. Check it every so often, or connect it to an email address; that way you’ll be notified when a new message comes in, but you won’t be tempted to traipse around aimlessly looking at people’s profiles.

2) Remove the app from your iphone. Yes, I know it sounds drastic, but it’s the only option for some people – especially if their phone keeps beeping every ten seconds as they receive a new message or update…

And be under no illusions, this is a problem. If you can get into the habit of only using your iphone to Google things – like at a pub quiz when someone needs to know when British wheat was first grown, or something – then I think you’ll find you’ll be a much happier bunny.

An inferiority complex is a feeling of lack of self worth. Those who have this would be generally shy, and hesitant to come forward and speak up in any situation. So how do you get over this inferiority complex? There are many ways to overcome it. Here are some tips:

1. Do not associate with people who make you feel inferior and inadequate. Be in the company of people you are comfortable with.

2. Understand your limitations and the extent of your abilities. Do not accept responsibilities that you know you won’t be able to fulfill. Accepting such jobs and being not able to satisfy others would only increase your feeling of inadequacy.

3. Among the people you feel comfortable with, there would be someone who knows how to deal with social confrontations. Observe them in action, and learn how they use their voice and body language. Try to imitate this in a similar situation.

4. Stop taking yourself too seriously. No one else does. You may find it hard to accept, but people are really not thinking and talking about you always.

5. Do not agree to do anything that you hate to do just because you are afraid to hurt someone’s feelings. Chances are that others are taking advantage of this soft side of yours, and would not feel bad at all if you refused to do it. </SPA

Depression

Depression

Depression is a disorder that has been with human race since the beginning of recorded history. In the Bible Job, King David, Elijah and many others suffered from this affliction. Depression is referred as melancholia and some refer it to clinical depression. Clinical depression is mentioned in literature and the arts for hundreds of years. In the 19th century depression was considered as inherited weakness of temperament. By 20th century depression was connected to guilt and conflict.

Depression could be genetic origin or some times comes out of nowhere. Many become victims of depression because of some untoward happenings, such as the death of a spouse, or other significant loss like losing a job and etc. whatever the cause is one has to go through the symptoms of depression.

Depression disorder reflects to sadness or irritable mood exceeding normal sadness or grief. Depression leads to negative thoughts, moods, and behaviors. It also leads to some specific bodily functions such as low energy, crying spells, body aches. It causes problem with eating, sleeping, weight, low productivity and absenteeism from work.

Many depressive people commit suicides. They take decisions that harm them and hurt others. Some even go ahead to get tattoos on their body only to look for tattoo removal clinics later, when they feel better.

Some people get depressed because of their looks. Once reading a newspaper my eyes fell on an advertisement which states overcome depression and have a make over with the help of Botox clinics. I am sure new looks could bring some changes to the way we look at ourselves. However we need to make an effort to overcome depression by getting the right help.
